Understanding the Values of Our Faith

Magnifying Glass

Kindergarten – Grade 1:  The next step is an exploration of the Seven Principles, the cornerstone of our Unitarian Universalist covenant.  We use these as a compass to guide us as we strive to live in the world in a just and peaceful way.  In 2018-19, the class is using “Dr. Seuss and UU,” by Helen Zidowecki, to help young learners develop and understanding of our UU principles and the values which are important to us in the world.

The seven Unitarian Universalist Principles are the cornerstone of our faith.  In Helen Zidowecki’s charming curriculum, Dr. Seuss and UU, our young learners will use the principles as a compass to guide them as they strive to live in the world in a just and peaceful way.  Dr. Seuss’ stories (including such classics as “Yertle the Turle,” “The Lorax,” “Oh, the Places You’ll Go,” and others) will help children to understand our principles and the values which are important to us.  This fun class also includes free play and story time, sometimes with guest storytellers!
