First Parish in Bedford offers Faith Development programming for ages of children, youth and adults. We value creating opportunities to learn together in the context of the wisdom of religious traditions and practices from around the world, deepen our personal spiritual lives, and explore Unitarian Universalist history, theology, and identity.
For children and youth in PreK through 8th grade we offer programming on most Sunday mornings. Children and youth attend worship with their families for the beginning of the worship service, and then move into their own spaces for faith development programming.
One Sunday a month we offer an All Ages worship service, and do not split out for classes. One Sunday a month, usually on holiday or vacation adjacent Sundays, we offer a special event faith development opportunity for this age group. For details on our programming, please fill out the faith development contact request form.
For youth in 6th-8th grades and 9th-12th grades we offer Junior Youth Group (JYG) and Senior Youth Group (SYG), respectively. JYG meets on Wednesdays 3:30-5:00, and SYG meets on Sunday evenings.
We also offer a Coming of Age program for 9th Graders that starts up every fall, and includes a deeper exploration of personal beliefs and spiritual exploration.
We offer comprehensive sexuality health education through the Our Whole Lives (OWL) Program, which provides developmentally appropriate sexuality health education for children, youth, and adults. The OWL curricula at every age offers fact-based support of values-based decision-making, self-confidence, and healthy relationships.
Babies and toddlers are welcome in the sanctuary during worship. If you need support for care during church programs or worship, please fill out the childcare request form below.
