First Parish in Bedford, Unitarian Universalist seeks an 8-10-hour per week Youth Coordinator to work with our Senior High Youth Group (grades 9-12). Under the direction of the Director of Religious Education, the Youth Coordinator will work with volunteer advisors and a youth leadership team to create exciting, meaningful experiences for and with high school age youth.
The Youth Coordinator will attend and lead Sunday evening youth group meetings (currently 5:30-7:00 pm), as well as select additional events at other days and times. Occasional youth retreats and/or overnights may also be scheduled. Administrative support to the Senior Youth Group (maintaining attendance records, permission documents, etc.) will also be required.
First Parish in Bedford, located just off I-95 in the Lexington/Concord/Burlington area, is a dynamic congregation committed to social justice, with active and growing programs for children and youth. The position has a late August start date; the bulk of the work for this position will occur between September and June.
Because the Youth Coordinator works with high school youth, candidates must be at least 21 years old, and must submit to and pass a CORI (Massachusetts criminal background) check. Familiarity with Unitarian Universalism is preferred; salary is commensurate with experience.
