“Saints and Sinners”

Deborah Weiner, Interim Director of Religious Education, preaching

As we move into the ‘dark time’ of the year, we mark the holidays of transition. The Pagan calendar notes that Samhain is the end of the year, which is then reborn…and it is the time, in Celtic religion, when the veil between life and death is said to be the thinnest – hence, all the excitement and lore about Halloween!). In this service, we’ll explore the co-mingling of celebrations for sinners and saints – and honor those who have passed from this life and who continue to hold dear. Please feel free to bring a memento or picture of a loved one (pets included!) who has passed away to place on an altar we’ll build during the service.
