Adult Learning and Spiritual Connections

Our congregation is alive with teaching and learning opportunities. In addition to the worship services here, our consistent forum for Adult Ed is the weekly “Bedford Lyceum” held on Sunday mornings. Topics vary and range widely based on interest and knowledge. From time to time, evening or afternoon classes are offered by the Ministry team or lay members of the Parish.

Many committees also offer evening programs. Recent classes have included UU and You, Earth-Centered Spirituality, Creating a Living Will, Bible Study, Quran Study, First Parish history, Science and Religion, Healing from Grief, Immunity to Change, Ethical Eating, Eco-Justice and faith, Financial Management, and Peace and Justice-themed films followed by discussion.

Small Group Ministry offers another learning opportunity to be a part of a small caring group that gathers regularly to learn, share and reflect together. Adult Ed opportunities are announced in advance both in the Sunday order of service and the monthly Parish newsletter. Information about currently scheduled classes is available from the church office.
