When someone we love has been diagnosed with an illness that has no cure, many of us would prefer to care for that person at home. The thought of the care involved can be overwhelming, but hospice is there to help.
There are many “myths” about hospice…some think it’s only for cancer patients, or that signing on for hospice means withholding treatments and hastening death. Laurie Groves is a social worker by training, and has worked in hospice since 2000. She’ll present an overview of what hospice is and what it isn’t, and she’ll also be available for a private consultation to anyone with personal questions.
