First Parish Blood Pressure Clinic (10:00 am)

First-Sunday Blood Pressure Clinic

As part of the Parish Wellness program, on the first Sunday of each month (Sep. - June) you will find another Blood Pressure Clinic between services10:00-10:50. Look for Nurses Gaye Carpenter and Diane Brown-King to be set up.

It’s a good idea to make a list of all the medications you take, over-the-counter (like vitamins and/or low-dose aspirin) as well as prescriptions--and bring it with you. Any questions? Our parish nurses will be glad to answer them. The visit only takes a few minutes, and the people are friendly--so you’ll get a relaxed BP reading. We also have those magnetic “pockets” for you to put on your refrigerator in case of emergency--with a form to fill in with medications and allergies and such, as well as other flyers of interest. If you’ve had your BP checked here before, bring your card with you so it can be updated with Sunday’s reading.

Third Tuesday Dinner (6:00 pm)

The Third Tuesday Dinner is a catered meal held in the Common Room at First Parish at 6 p.m. on the Third Tuesday of each month, September through May. Cost is $8/adult, $4.50/child under 12. Set up and clean up are a communal effort; every adult is responsible for one or the other, and kids help out where they can. It is an event of fellowship, to forge connections within and across generations. Please RSVP to Joan in the office (office@uubedford.org) by 9 a.m. on the Monday preceding the meal to give her your headcount and let her know whether the adult members of your party will be on set up or clean up crew. (We are always short of clean up crew.) If you don't like being surprised by the catered meal and/or have food allergies, please feel free to bring your own meal (including dessert, if you wish), but still contact Joan to make sure our headcount is accurate for chairs.
Hope to see you there!
