Last November I had the privilege of hearing John preach on kindness. He was in favor of it and so am I but the one  thing he didn’t tell us was how to be kind when you’re feeling grumpy or angry or hurt. No one sermon can do  everything of course so this Sunday I thought I’d build on John’s remarks by telling you the wisest thing I know—about  people, nations and life. (We’re going to cover a lot of ground in twenty minutes.) You may still be grumpy or angry or hurt after I’m finished but at least you too will be able to claim to be wise.”
